Solar Direct Savings have developed a simple process for fitting a solar PV array at your home. All our installations are MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accredited.

Our full circle service is a six stage process as illustrated below:

Stage 1 – Free home design and consultation

Our consultants need to inspect your roof and utility installations to determine suitability for a solar PV system. We will arrange for a consultant to visit your home, at a time that suits you. Your consultant will evaluate your property and deliver a presentation on the financial and ecological benefits of your new solar PV system. They can also answer any questions you may have about the benefits of solar PV.

Stage 2 – Technical Survey

This is a detailed inspection of your property so that we can comprehensively plan your installation. A member of our installation team will complete a full survey of your home looking at access, roof material, your electrical and utility systems. This survey must be carried out during the day and will usually take up to 2 hours.

One of our in-house designers will then produce a Computer Aided Design to help you visualise the installation before you purchase.

Stage 3 – Fully Project Managed

You will be assigned a project manager to make sure your installation will run as smoothly as possible.

Stage 4 – Free delivery to anywhere in the UK

Your solar PV system will be delivered to your home, free of charge.

Stage 5 – Installation

This usually takes around two days, but in some cases it can be done in one. Our installers will cause as little disruption as possible and will leave everything as they found it – except for your new solar PV system. Our installer network is MCS accredited, ensuring a professional and compliant installation.

In all cases, safe access to your roof is required. As such, scaffolding is erected the day before installation. Once done, our experienced team will fit the array of solar PV panels to your roof.

Stage 6 – Activation of your inverter by your MCS installer.

Our certified electricians will then fit the inverter, make amends to your electrical system and install your generation meter. This shows how much electricity you are generating and is the key to your tax free income.

Finally – Commission and Start Earning

Once the installation is complete, all that remains is to commission your system and for you to submit documentation to trigger your tax-free income. We provide you with a comprehensive handover pack that tells you all you need to know about your solar PV system. This includes your Micro Generation Certification Scheme (MCS) certificate, and documents that YOU must submit to your utility service provider as we are not permitted to do this on your behalf. Your personal cheque for electricity generated under the FIT scheme is then sent to you on a quarterly basis.
