  • What are the benefits of installing a solar PV system?

    Once your solar PV system is installed, you’ll own the system, meaning you can be in control of your own free source of electricity that is exempt from VAT and price increases (RPI).

    As a rough example, a 1kWp system should generate between 800 kWh and 1000 kWh a year. There are however many factors that affect this, including the angle and size of your roof, the direction it faces and if there is any shading.

  • Can I export the surplus electricity I generate back to the grid?

    Yes. There may be times when you will be generating electricity and not using it. This electricity will be exported back to the electricity grid. Your electricity supplier will add a meter to your solar PV system. This will show the number of units that you have exported to the grid. You get paid for any electricity you export back to the grid.
